Dr. Geiselhardt received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1985.  He started his career practicing large animal medicine, and made the transition to small animal medicine in the Denver Metro Area.  He has developed his affinity for dogs over the years, and branched out into reproductive work.  He has worked closely with the Bull Dog Club of Denver and several other clubs in the area to help new and experienced breeders.

Dr. Joseph received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1986.

Dr. Christine Duree
Veterinarian

Dr. Duree is originally from Kansas, and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1995.  Since graduating, she has practiced in several veterinary clinics in the Denver Metro area.  She has a robust background in Avian, Exotic, and Small Animal medicine. In 2009, she became certified in veterinary acupuncture.  When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, knitting, baking, and over landing.

Dr. Maggie Rea
Veterinarian

Dr. Rea grew up in Foxfield, Colorado, and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 2025. With both her dad and uncle being veterinarians, she was able to experience the field firsthand growing up, and she was always taking in stray or abandoned animals, including ducks, rabbits, kittens, and more.

Her veterinary interests include preventative care, feline medicine, and the human animal bond. She was drawn to Homestead because of the variety of animals we see, and she is excited to be a part of this well-respected team.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Aidan, playing pickleball, and hanging out with their five cats, Binx, Crumpet, May, June, and Bogdan, a fish, and a tarantula named Tulip.
Dr. Laura Heotis
Veterinarian

Originally from New York, Dr. Heotis received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Binghamton University. An opportunity to study abroad in her senior year lead her to Murdoch University in Perth, Australia where she would return to attend Veterinary School in 2003. After graduation in 2007, she returned to the States, moving to Colorado to start her career.

As a dedicated canine/feline practitioner, Dr. Heotis has a keen interest in internal medicine and chronic disease management, as well as a passion for preventive medicine. While she currently has no pets at home, she loves watching the birds in her garden. A self-proclaimed eataterian, she and her husband have a passion for travel and trying new restaurants all over the world. Closer to home are frequent visits to the Colorado Symphony and DCPA theaters.
